  • CME : Mediterranean Centre for Environment

    The “Centre Méditerranéen de l’Environnement” (CME = Mediterrranean Centre for the Environment) is a non-profit-making organisation based in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region.

    It is heavily involved in educational and awareness-raising activities for sustainable development and protection of the environment. The CME is active in France and also internationally in cooperation with a number of partners in the Mediterranean region.

    Its teaching teams offer discovery activities on the theme of the environment, aimed at both young people and adults. They cover subjects such as biodiversity, agriculture and landscape, ecomobility and hazard prevention. The CME is a fully accredited professional training organisation, specializing in professions linked to the environment.
    It is certified as a “Centre Permanent d’Initiatives pour l’Environnement des Pays de Vaucluse” (Permanent Centre for Environmental Initiatives in the Vaucluse Region) by the national union of the CPIE.

    It works in partnership with a number of government ministries in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur regional authority. It is an associate member of the “United Nations Environment Programme / Mediterranean Action Plan” (UNEP / MAP).
