Heritage, Art and Culture

Landscape design improvements to the Domaine de Fabrégas (2011)

  • The campus will make proposals for enhancing the landscape features of the site and present them to the general public.

Development of industrial heritage and landscaping improvements at the Royal Gunpowder Factory (2011)
FRANCE- Provence Saint-Chamas

The campus will study proposals seeking to open up the old mills to the general public. It will concentrate on renewing the water supply to the mills, public accessibility and public presentation of the site.

 

Creation of the "orange-grove" eco-museum (2009)
TUNISIA – Hammamet  / Association pour l’Education Relative à l’Environnement Hammamet (an environmental awareness-raising initiative).

  • Proposals for the installation of the “Maison de l’Orangeraie” (Orange-grove House), with an exhibition space, an example of an orange grove and a water discovery trail, as well as a programme for the museology and communication of the project.


Tourist-targeted development of the ancient villages of Redortiers and Montsalier (2009)

FRANCE – Provence – Redortiers / Montsalier

  • Compilation of an inventory of dry stone heritage features (cabins and sheepfolds) and a study for landscape development of the ancient parts of Redortiers.


Development of cultural tourism in the Medina quarter of Tunis (2008)

TUNISIA – Medina quarter of Tunis / Association de Sauvegarde de la Médina de Tunis (a heritage protection initiative)

  • Identification of thematic discovery trails in the medina and publication of information leaflets


Feasibility survey for land-art school sites along the dry stone tourist route (2007)

France – Vaucluse, Le Beaucet

  • Survey and landscape diagnosis of the Beaucet plateau, Formulation of a proposal for hosting land-art students. Proposals for sign-posting.

Development of sustainable tourism and improvement to quality of life for inhabitants of the medina quarter of Tunis (2005)
TUNISIA – Medina of Tunis - Association de Sauvegarde de la Médina de Tunis / Fédération de Tunis de Solidarité Sociale (heritage protection and social support initiatives)

  • Identification of a discovery trail through the medina quarter and proposals for a leaflet. Feasibility study regarding the development of bed & breakfast accommodation run by medina inhabitants and craft demonstrations for visitors by local craftsmen. Proposals for improvements to sub-standard local housing.
