Projet « Youth Eye »
Part-funded by the European LEADER Programme, the “Youth Eye” Project is a transnational co-operation between 3 rural areas: the Baronnies Provençales in France, the region of Achaia in Greece and the Centre region of Corsica. 3 campuses will be organised enabling young people to develop new proposals on the ways local products from rural areas in the Mediterranean are promoted and sold that help strengthen, diversify and grow the local economy by keeping added value and jobs in those rural areas.
Taking quality products like olive oil, wine and lemons, it is about looking at strengths and weaknesses (volumes produced, supply chains, markets, etc.) assessing potential and coming up with proposals for local partners to make their products look appealing to both young and old client groups but also become a motor for local economic development. Young people don’t often get a say in this subject area, but here you can bring your knowledge and experience to generate fresh and new ideas bringing new energy to local initiatives.
A methodological guide illustrating the work of the 3 campuses will be produced at the end of the project.
“Youth eye” project is implemented by Leader LAG Une autre Provence / Syndicat Mixte des Baronnies Provencales (lead partner), the LAG Centru di Corsica and the Achaïa Development Agency with technical support provided by the CME.
